Our children, the future of the Nation Across the world, some things never change, such as the inherent nature of children. Children are innocent, vulnerable, dependent, curious, active and full of hope. What does change, is the circumstances they are faced with and the situations they live in.
This is exactly what makes children on the street different from others around them. They are faced with the demons of physical danger, poverty, hunger, homelessness, epidemics and illiteracy. These children are often found as orphans, engaged in hazardous work and petty crimes or end up as victims of prostitution and sexual abuse.
The hidden and isolated nature of street children makes accurate statistics difficult to gather however, it's estimated there are approximately 18 million street children in India. Thousands of immigrant families come to the cities in search of employment and find themselves on the streets, incapable of providing their children a nurturing environment. The children grow up on the street, having to fend for themselves, often having to contribute to their own upkeep. These children tend to collect in groups around railway stations, market areas and bus stations where they fall into the hands of further exploitation.
Every child has a right to receive education that will allow for intellectual, mental and physical development. Education forms one of the mainstays of the program of our group for street children. Double UR Money
